Looking for some students, I teach chess regularly at elementary/high schools. Have won two state amateur tournaments (Iowa and Texas). Class-A, 1850 USCF.
Honestly, people pay me pretty well ($50 an hour), but I hate the driving and would prefer to work from home. I'll teach you for $10-15 an hour via Skype. Don't have to pay if you aren't satisfied, so no risk.
Will go through your games with you, move by move, discussing how I would examine the position and what to do. Have Houdini/Fritz, so we can explore some complex lines together, and I can teach you how to interpret the engine output.
I'm pretty good at explaining theory in a way that people can understand it. Will make ample use of Fritz's ability to draw arrows and highlight squares, so you can see visually what's going on.
Am best suited for those who want to learn 1.d4 and 1...e6. Other openings can be fun, but if you want a solid opening system, that's what I'll teach you.
