Hello chess.com

First a little about my self, I have been playing chess for around 5 years. My Peak USCF Rating is 2151, Current rating 2151 and i have the norm of USCF Candidate Master. I am a 1.e4 player and as black i play the najdorf/KID. My chess goals are to become a NM with in 2 years and in 4 years an IM. I am looking for a hard working chess student with a rating around 1200-1500.I am willing take him up the ranks to a Class A player (1800-1999) and even beyond with me. please leav a message below, explaning why you would like to be my student and how many hours a week are you free. Thank you.

Hello D

I am sure you've seen me around the forums. Hopefully you've seen me solve some of Yeres puzzles - and fail spectaculary on others haha - anyway, I have been searching for a chance like this for quite some time. Never thought it'd practically find me!

I don't know you, how you play, or your thought process. I do, however, know that what you are doing must be correct on a level currently beyond me. I don't like this; I respect it, but I do not like it. I find no pleasure in knowing I can get stronger and seeing little to no real progress. I find no pleasure losing games I know, in complete frustration, I should have been able to win.

I do show pleasure for chess.

I love the game - I love making positions on the board so complicated that both myself and my opponent have headaches by the time the game is done. More than anything, I enjoy learning. I would like to be your student, not to attain the strength you have, but to attain the knowledge you have gained through your own hard work. Strength will follow, but the knowledge is what drives me. I wish to gain this knowledge so that some day I can reach my dream of a title and go further by using that knowledge, for free, to those I can.

If I take into account the classes that start up for me on Sept. 4th then I can put into chess 10-15 hours a week. Or about two hours a day. I am seriously considering putting aside my 10-12 hour per week part-time job on the University so the amount of time may increase.

I know that knowledge comes at a price. So while I may learn more slowly than some, I will learn...I always do.

I'm interested, sir!

I would also like to apply. I joined chess.com in April and have played over 500 games since. I do not play much blitz only about a dozen games... I play 15/10 live standard. I also play e4 exclusively and have included three games below to show you my skill (or lack of) level. I would be available however many hours I would need to to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Regards.

Above is a game where things went well and I commented on to show you my thought process and the two games below are a classic example of me blundering away a game.

and finally the next game is one where I hold my own against a much higher ranked opponent but just miscalculate and blunder away the game again.

It is quite generous of someone of your skill level to offer to tutor others as a means of sharing your knowledge about this great game called Chess.

Students are like mirrors that reflect the image of their teachers.  A good teacher is one who is not only skilled and rich in knowledge, but one who also passes on the qualities that have nothing to do with winning or losing.

I hope that you are able to impress upon your students that Chess is more than just about winning or losing.  It is similar to life itself and living honorably.

D_for _DJ,

I've seen you post quite a bit in forums which are quite helpful. I'm interested in this opportunity of coaching, considering most of your posts are informative and your decent rated for a coach. As your status of premium member, I feel safe knowing that you are indeed a serious player too.

However, what made me ask for coaching, is that you play the similar openings to me (the KID, and exclusive 1. e4 player) so I was hoping to learn key ideas of those openings. I would like the coaching to improve my own game and have better insights of the positions that I get from games.

I'm rated around 1400 OTB, and I hope I can raise it to 1800 within the next 4~5 years. I'm willing to spend 10 hrs a week (7/10 hrs on Online Chessing).

Thanks for the consideration and generous offer

Ora

P.S. Nice TT rating

I would like too,

I am home schooled so i have a very open scedule, I am 11 years old and i have been playing for almost 1 year non stop. My passion for chess is like a train it can never stop and it will just keep going faster and faster and stronger. But i am also working at chess, the work i do is like the carts, as the train becomes stronger and faster i can add more carts to the train. I would be willing to do as much as two hours a day. Edit: I would be willing to do it all day, my parents...

I like longer time controls so i have time to think and improve. I also prefer OTB to online. I tied for 4th place in the Peruvian nationals U12 in march.

I have been trying to anylize my games to find my weakneses and strong spots and to use them to my advantage, i havn't been doing this for very long so i havn't gotten anywhere. I think that a coach could singnefecantly speed the prosses and show me things that acur in a chess game that i would never have noticed before. I also know that you would be a nice coach becouse only nice people would offer free coaching at you rating, it must be hard to coach for free when you are trying to become NM.
