Hello D
I am sure you've seen me around the forums. Hopefully you've seen me solve some of Yeres puzzles - and fail spectaculary on others haha - anyway, I have been searching for a chance like this for quite some time. Never thought it'd practically find me!
I don't know you, how you play, or your thought process. I do, however, know that what you are doing must be correct on a level currently beyond me. I don't like this; I respect it, but I do not like it. I find no pleasure in knowing I can get stronger and seeing little to no real progress. I find no pleasure losing games I know, in complete frustration, I should have been able to win.
I do show pleasure for chess.
I love the game - I love making positions on the board so complicated that both myself and my opponent have headaches by the time the game is done. More than anything, I enjoy learning. I would like to be your student, not to attain the strength you have, but to attain the knowledge you have gained through your own hard work. Strength will follow, but the knowledge is what drives me. I wish to gain this knowledge so that some day I can reach my dream of a title and go further by using that knowledge, for free, to those I can.
If I take into account the classes that start up for me on Sept. 4th then I can put into chess 10-15 hours a week. Or about two hours a day. I am seriously considering putting aside my 10-12 hour per week part-time job on the University so the amount of time may increase.
I know that knowledge comes at a price. So while I may learn more slowly than some, I will learn...I always do.
