You might be surprised how much can be achieved if you put your mind to it.

I guess that is what happen in almost all human activities. It just requires time and patience. No hurry.

"Did I get those benefits?" Yes. I have been in work life and studied enough to know that I'm not so keen on them. I get a long guite nice even economically. I get over 1200 € in month and my apartments rents is only 400 €. 200 € goes to the food and rest 600 € for fun.

So, in other words, you're completely healthy & capable of working but managed to take advantage of the system to support you, right? Why work if you can get some other people to work for you, right? :)

Quite right. Most of the works are useless. We do stupid things. Stupid works produce stupid works that produce stupid works exponentially. As a matter of fact I have mental illness but most of them who has it do it well in works, but I'm happy not to need anymore. My work is to enjoy myself.

Is parasitism only your mental illness or you have something more serious that led doctors to believe you're unfit to work with others? :)

That's pretty offensive, also who died and made you king?

I agree, that was pretty offensive. And being offensive was the idea since the poster portrayed a scenario where we knowingly is milking the system while being healthy and fit. Only later did he say that he had serious issues. Upon realizing that, I apologized. I have no problem admitting when I am wrong - which presently seemed to be the case. And, I think we have some common understanding right now with the guy. So, it's all good. :)

You didn't understand what I said. Who made you the moral arbiter of this thread/forum/site? It's offensive because even if someone hacks the system who are you to tell him? I think it's arrogant to think that your opinion matters and other people should listen to it because you are "right".

I just won Ranking 1319 Smile . He gave me his queen in move 15, so everybody makes mistakes sometimes. http://www.chess.com/echess/game?id=121583854

@MonkeyH

His opinion is worldwide. Very common. But I have my own. I listen his opinion and I understand it. He did not hurt me. And I have worked many years as I said. Many years doing stupid things. In one office I was IT designer and they gave me absurd task. I should have print thousands papers so that others could check from those papers does my program do same results as old program. Whole job could be done in one little SQL-query. The boss were old and their brains were somewhere 70's. That happened 1997. I was nearly going mad because of that maddness of that task. So I said goodbye and get lost from that workplace.

It's offensive because even if someone hacks the system who are you to tell him? Any opinion may or may not be offensive to somebody; we're all taking a chance when we're writing something on the walls of these forums. Don't expect me to apologize for that. As to what if someone hacks the system... Well, if some people are knowingly & willingly milking the system to their advantage I have a problem with that and I state my position openly; any reasonable person has a similar attitude, by the way. Most people work hard and don't like parasitism since they are paying taxes; also, those who are legitimately unwell and need help don't like parasites either since they are taking their share of benefits and potentially undermining the sytem.

I think it's arrogant to think that your opinion matters and other people should listen to it because you are "right". Back at ya! :)

That's pretty nice. Now, he has to retreat the rook and all you need to do is to capture the rook and deliver mate. Of course, if I was White in this game, I would already resign. Congrats on a nice Victory.

Chess is quite new hobby for me but I rapidly got addicted to it, I have now played everyday since 29.september.2015 when I registered this chess.com. I dream that I could some day go to some chess club or even participate to some tournament  but I'm afraid 10-15 year teens gonna laugh 52 years old man out very soon.

Maybe stupid question: it depends about club. But are here for example any players rating about 1000 who still play in some club and participate to tournaments?

You can join  chess club anytime you want.  Our club has members from Master to beginner.  We have one guy that just his first game a few weeks ago.

Well said Spiritofthevictory. Your replies seem perfectly reasonable to me. I don't find you arrogant at all.

Yee, I know the guy. He is so disapointed that he let me wait 20 hours. I chatted to him:

petrikeckman: !! ?

petrikeckman: C'moon now, move your Rook now..it is only you can do anymore

petrikeckman: Dont let me wait 24 hours my # mark.

Thank you, Pam. Although, I've got to admit, I may be arrogant or ignorant on an occasion. Please don't hold me to too high a standard. :)

Thank you, Sir. I'd like to stress again that I didn't realize your situation. I know I must have offended you at least a little for which I sincerely apologize.

I've been a member of three chess clubs (Fort Worth, Arlington and Amarillo, Texas), and my rating isn't that high (it's right around where yours is now). Join a chess club because you want to play (and learn). One advantage in face-to-face chess: You wouldn't have to face someone who might be using an engine.

petrikeckman

I ordered chess team to a local mental health association Smile. Every Tuesday after the lunch! I already played one game (I won :)) I think there will be more participants when there will be an ad in paper.

TheOldReb

When I first joined a chess club I had no rating at all , had not played any rated/organized chess .
