You don't need just one result. You need a minimum of 9 FIDE-rated games against FIDE-rated players and you need to score at least 1 point and a rating performance of minimum 1000.

In a recent OTB tournament I beat a FIDE rated 1800ish player and correct me if I'm wrong but to become FIDE rated one just needs to draw or beat someone who's already FIDE rated in a FIDE approved section of a event and that's exactly what I did. It was the Motor City Open and I played in the Open section yet I still couldn't find myself in the FIDE database on there official website. Can someone help me?
