Why am I not FIDE rated !?

In a recent OTB tournament I beat a FIDE rated 1800ish player and correct me if I'm wrong but to become FIDE rated one just needs to draw or beat someone who's already FIDE rated in a FIDE approved section of a event and that's exactly what I did. It was the Motor City Open and I played in the Open section yet I still couldn't find myself in the FIDE database on there official website. Can someone help me?

You don't need just one result. You need a minimum of 9 FIDE-rated games  against FIDE-rated players and you need to score at least 1 point and a rating performance of minimum 1000.

In a single event, you need to have at least 1/3 against 3 fide rated players, you will have to wait for a total of 9 games after that first 1 point has been reached (The first 3 games has to be played in the same event), to get a rating!
