We'll see where your rating pans out after more than four games......
EDIT
Keep at it!!........I only started playing a year ago....lots of study at various aspects of the game & recently joined this site.
At best, 9 months since I was a 900 player & whilst I think the ratings here are a little inflated, I must have gained 300pts.
I have only just joined, let's hope that huge progress will soon be evident! It may be harder to progress from my starting rating than it is for under 1000 ratings though.
I have only joined and got 1400. I have not played chess for years and years. Is 1400 good starting point or bad one? How do they assign the you the rating at the beginning?
Hi.
I joined chess.com around this spring. When I joined, I was TOTAL garbage at chess. I would make a move without even thinking it. I even reached the bad rating 0f 700 at live chess (Although to be honest, live chess isn't a great point for me, due to the time option) and I didn't even knew about online chess.
Now, I've achieved the rating of 1400 for the first time, and I'm capable of playing against higher rating oponents. I also blunder alot less. I feel like I'm making progress, and I feel I should thank chess.com for that, because without chess.com, I could never had gotten better at chess.
The computer chess games, the tactics trainer, the daily puzzle and the online chess. All these helped me progress and turned me into a better player.
As for the future, I'm aiming to continue progressing as much as I possibly can, and even hoping to get to 2000 rating one day.
Although it would seem difficult, when I'm thinking of the progress I made in 7 months, from 700 rating to 1400, it's quite something.
Tell me what you think.
