Any casual chess players?

It seems there's a lot of hardcore tournament players in this forum, anyone actually just plays chess without entering tournaments/gambling or having a chess related job?

I'm a casual player, but I am striving to get better. My rating was as low as the 750 range and I've gotten it back up to 1100. I want to get to the 1400-1500 range before going to a chess club.
