Any examples of positional clearance sacrifices in modern play?

I read a lot of chess books in the 1990s and I remember one "tip" given that I have never yet attempted.

Namely to sacrifice a pawn simply to make room for a knight to occupy a good square. Nothing more beyond that. Of course there's lots of examples of clearance sacrifices that lead to clear, concrete adavantages, but simply to give up a pawn for the sake of a good square for a knight......well, that sounds like fun, but so far I haven't had the courage to anything as bold as that.Surprised

I have the same question. Nimzovich talks about it in "My System".
