Then who is Capablanaca?
Capablanaca
Capablanca held the world record for not losing a game for 7 years straight.
(while simultaneously playing chess very seriously during that time - otherwise, that's not a great achievement)
Capablanca held the world record for not losing a game for 7 years straight.
I went 22 straight years without losing a single game.... then I learned to play and it's been downhill ever since.
Tal later broke Capa's undefeated streak and only took 2 years to do it ! Capa didnt play many games per year during his undefeated streak , obviously .
HaHaHa
Capablanca held the world record for not losing a game for 7 years straight.
Steinitz didn't lose for nine years, between 1873 and 1882. He played even less than Capa did 1916-24 though, so number of years undefeated doesn't mean much compared to number of games (at the highest level).
Capablanca in my opinion is one of the most talented players of all time.
