Hey, this is my first day online chess playing.  I beat some guy but he never resigned.  He just didn't do anything.  Did the two hour game that I played count for anything?  Or did I just waste two hours because this punk couldn't live up defeat?

What are you talking about, you have NO game history?

Yeah, I'm still in a game with some dude and he won't make a move or resign.  I said this is my first time playing online chess.  It's his turn but he won't make a move because he's lost.  Do I have to wait however many days for the game to be over for me to win or what?

Yes you do . If you want to play intant chess ( with much shorter time controls ) you can go to : http://www.chess.com/play/live.html

Look at how much time he has left.  This is a correspondence chess site, so many games only require a 1 move every 3 days timetable.  Your opponent has all of the time within your game's timetable to analyze the position and respond.  Patience, young padawan :)

One advantage is you can play many games at once so you don't have to wait as long

Ok, thanks guys.  I just don't want to waste two hours every time I play chess.  I'm definitely impatient, for sure!  It makes for fun games, though.  So if his time limit  goes up, I get the full credit for beating him?

Yep you do . Unless your game is really short ( maybe 4 moves or less )
