FatonV, click on "My Home" then "Online Chess" then "New Game". You can set a min and max rating for your opponent and quickly get a game going. Over-the-board 2000 players might end up somewhere between 1800 to 2200 here (depending on how long they spend per move and whether they use an analysis board)... good luck!
How to challenge someone to play chess :)

likesforests,
when you say the fluctuation in rating may be due to time per move and use of analysis board, do you mean that say, a 2000 ranked player might be 2200 on here, because he spends longer and uses the luxury of an analysis board to triple check his moves?
just curious if that's what you meant, because it seems like a clear advantage for players, one that does not exist in the club/tourney arenas.
...ryan

Exactly. If he plans to spend 15-30 minutes per move, use opening and endgame books, and an analysis board he might get a 2150-rating. But if he plays the same way that he would over the board he might only get an 1850-rating. And whether he plays only when he's alert or also when he's tired also makes a difference.
The ratings will help you find a challenging opponent. They don't directly predict who would win under tournament conditions. Although I wager a 2000-rated player will crush a 1000-rated player under almost any circumstances.
Dear all,
I just registered and I find the user-interface very excellent, also GM and other masters in this chess site are members, which makes it very special website for chess.
My real rating is near 2000, what I am interested to know, is how to play members that are more than 1900 or even 2000 and 1800 rating, should I send them a challenge or is it limitted, or can I play here any chessmasters, since my rating is high also..:) I look forward to your clarifications. Thanks all.
Best,
Faton.
