I hate players that abandon...

when the game goes against them.  Is it so difficult to resign?

I guess I should have.  But it puzzles me, why abandon on mate on 1...

BTW, that is a very large even number that only factors into 3 primes!

I guess they want to get back at you in some small way for hurting their pride. Petty, but people do it anyway.

I cannot see the time control, or the game at all. There are many valid reasons why people abandon games. Why would this bother you? You do get the win.

If I were at an OTB tournament and my opponent stormed away from a losing position and I got the W, I would not complain.

It was check mate in 1 and the other player abandoned, so I had to wait for 1 minute for him to timeout to play another game. One minute is not that long, but why do it. This is a reason why I don't like to play longer games.

Because it wastes time. If we were playing for money the win would be fine.  But we are not playing for money we are playing for fun.  And sitting waiting for a move and not being able to go on to another game is not fun.    This is a persistent large scale problem on chess.com, particularly at the lower levels.   It gets complained about frequently because it happens so often to so many people.

If the win position adds moves instead of checkmate. Well, prepare too wait for time. Don't like the answer... Umm! Too Bad.

This sometimes happens at lower levels. Strong players know better.

It happens so often. That's why i'd rather play blitz.
