i have an indescribable amount of hatred for people who use scholars mate and etc

Scholars mate should be against the rules. I mean really!? Why do I keep falling for it?
You are either not a good player or a very stupid person. You still can be a good person and you have every right to live. May I suggest trying another activity that may not involve any competition.

Geez. Relax already. He may not even have been serious.

Actually, I rather hope I didn't insult the OP. Just trying to be funny OP. Sorry. I really did fall for the Fried Liver Attack recently. But you play and you learn. Besides, good players should be happy to have bad players around so you can beat us. You get an ego shot and we get to learn something. It's a win for everybody.

Hold up how have you fallen for the scholar mate more then once? That seems like a you problem and a skill issue.

Can’t you put in a computer or watch a video like how to stop early queen attacks by Gothamchess? There are many options.

I don't think anyone here actually falls for it much... you have to just not be paying attention. It's annoying because it's actually so dumb. You'd rather see your opponent wanting a good game of chess. Early Queen attacks usually end up costing the aggressor of course, since, unless the opponent is a total noob, or not paying attention, you'll just end up wasting moves.

When it first got its name, the word 'scholar' meant what we would call a student, not someone educated.
"Scholar's Mate has some of the time likewise been given different names in English, for example, Schoolboy's Mate (which in current English may better indicate the feeling of 'fledgling' proposed by the word Scholar's)."

"White violates multiple rules to set up this dodgy checkmate attack. If the queen comes out on the second move, Nf6 develops with tempo, forcing White to move away. If Bc4 is played first, then the threat of Qh5 can again be met with g6, then Bg7 for natural piece development.
If White keeps pressing the issue by moving back to f3, Nf6 is a natural response, with castling to follow. When the scholar’s mate fails, White is left with a misplaced queen and an underdeveloped knight."

I hate the Scandinavian. I watched a video about that one and will look at it some more. It's pretty common and solid with it's pawn structure. It really bugs me.
Anytime the queen comes out I get intimidated. Kramnik traded off Kasparov's queen with the Berlin Defense in 2005. I am wary of the queen. I always check to see if it's up to no good. They can be sneaky like the knight with their subtle positional shifts. Very shifty piece the queen.
I have an indescribable amount of hatred for people who are better than me in chess. Sounds rational.

Actually, as kindaspongey points out, 2.Nf6 is not the best choice since White can respond with Qxe5+. I usually play Nc6, and sometimes Qf3.

I like 2. - Nf6. It has a cool name (Kiddie countergambit), and it gives black great compensation for the pawn.
The best thing is that black grabs the initiative, and white is forced to defend passively.

Ahahah. Honest! ^^

I used to feel the same way lol, breaking the traditional "Opening Principles" etc. haha, don't let it bother you, just learn to block it, I've had people lose their Queens, their Bishops lol, I have a little fork I do that prevents it, as Black since I play the Sicillian, I've been using that for a time. However better is to just play e6 probably.
I won a game recently in a giuoco piano opening,my opponent had my king knight on f 3 pinned to my queen and I developed the other knight, my B on c 4, opponent actually had a Philidor defense position so e 5 was "protected" by d 6 but I played N x e 5 exposing my Q to attack, ...B x d 1, B x f 7+...K e 2, N d 5 # and the computer analysis showed all moves to set it up as inaccuracies.
