How does it look like to be banned during a game?

take a look here: http://www.chess.com/blog/jakesabeast/fm-banned

Thank you. Wow, interesting. :)

Mtx01

I just wish a more detailed explanation was given.

His games were always inspiring for me and I often ended up going through his blitz games and trying to learn new things. There was something appealing about his playing style that I can't find in any matches of other high rated players on chess.com.

I hope he comes back.

ssakash

how could they prove that he has cheated and, why would a FM cheat anyway ?

MuhammadAreez10

There's no adequate evidence in the whole world to believe anything.

ssakash

so, was he banned without any evidence ?

I believe there's a dog close to me, i have enough evidence :)

KirbyCake

still looks like he got banned without any evidence.

got to love chess.com, ban the legit players but don't ban the cheaters.

Crazychessplaya

Kalinichev played the Elephant Gambit. Not once, but several times and against strong opposition. Enough said.

KirbyCake

playing an opening is a bannable offense now?

wow

Crazychessplaya

Not just any opening. A ridiculous opening.

KirbyCake

gambits are stronger in blitz/bullet than in other games just because its harder to defend than to attack with less time

kco

their cheating detection method don't just looked the openings just afterward it.

TChosen1

His perfect win record in blitz doesn't tip anyone off (specifically: Kirby/ssakash/Mtx) as suspicious?

Mtx01

@TChosen1: I wanted to check his statistics for blitz, but I can't find it anymore. If I recall correctly his loss % for blitz was around 10%. I thought that's normal for someone who's on top and given that his average opponent was at, judging by other top blitz players' average opponent score, 2200-2400.

@tchosen

He is a FM so, it's natural to believe him to be that powerful.

i'm gonna reverse your question:

why would chesscom ban someone -and especially a titled player- if they didn't have enough evidence?

Scottrf

They err on the side of caution. If he was banned, he was not only cheating but obviously and stupidly.

If you were lucky you'd find that even in my recent games from time to time. What i meant was the full statistics.. All games won/lost + draws. I was talking about that.
