Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't golf the gentleman's game?

Yes. But I think cricket is one too. I've never heard of chess being called a gentlemans game, but I suppose it could be. Supposedly it's any game with a lot of rules and etiquette. At over 600 pages of rules golf probably has the top spot. I like it for the same reason I like chess, a lot of social interaction so you dont have to be good at it to enjoy it.
Perhaps I feel this way because I have played 1000's games in prison, parks, on-line, and wherever and I am still not very good. I'm not horrible and have been victorious my fair share, it might be that I feel that myself and my opponents deserved a run back.

For a guy who has played thousands of games, your rating sure could use a bump.
Since u mentioned it, I've never noticed that complaint in books or from any high rated player either.
Yah
I'm new to the forums and if my reason has already been mentioned I appoligize
When I play a live game there are times when I only can get one game in before I have to leave.
If it's a win or a loss it doesn't matter to me.
I don't understand. Is one obliged to give a rematch? Rather, are they obliged to PROVE they are the better player? Some of us are more concerned with gathering more information and learning more. Why would I want to prove anything to a person behind sheet of Silicon and anonymity?
Sometimes, the behaviour on this site is so pathetic that I leave the moment my game is done. Earlier, I had a moron flaming me for not accepting a rematch when he was a Queen for Bishop down and played on in a lost position.
Noone owes you a rematch. Make your peace with it.
