Limitations

Do you as chessplayers feel any limitations.Do you have a rating set in your head that you feel is achievable and a point that you feel is unattainable.I am presently at 1461 and feel 1600 isnt that far off but i can see 1800 as a distant dream....Does anyone else feel the same way? Question raised in my mind after reading the upside of irrationality

I think anything beyond ~2300 is unattainable for me, no matter the circumstances.

Coincidentally, I don't expect to ever pass expert, unless I have ideal circumstances.

And I don't plan to try for expert for a good number of years.

It'll be on World News Tonight if I ever get to 1400 on this damn chess site.

I definitely feel limitations.  They have me currently at 1472, but I sure don't feel like I play even at that level.  Sure, I would like to improve, and maybe someday see something higher, but I wouldn't be surprised if it simply goes lower.  However, I really love the game, and always have.  But at my age, and with limited time due to work, etc., I don't see me getting much better in the near future.  But I will keep playing and studying!

The great majority of chess players in the world will never reach a legitimate 2000 rating. In the USCF over-the-board ratings check the percentiles.
