Nakamura and Judit Polgar undeserving of all the credit they get?

Since 75% or so of Americans are probably Nakamura fans i expect they will disagree with me, but why are they both the rage? i mean Judit has the highest rating for women, but why don't people pay for attention to players who are a lot better than she is? And as for nakamura everyone is just up at arms because he didn't get the wild card. i mean his score against Gelfand is horrible or Carlsen why are these two popular(not Gelfand or Carlsen) Tell me the last time Nakamura won a tournament and i will be satified,

He is #4 in the world when much lower ranked players will be there. So of course there will be surprise. He also has a winning record against Kramnik and Anand. So his score against Gelfand isn't great, hardly the evidence of a bad player.

It's pretty obvious why Polgar gets so much attention. Aside from her attacking style and being top 10 in the past, she's the strongest female chess player of all time.

CP6033 you are such a clown. Nakamura did not just wake up one morning and had a 2700+ ELO. He actually had to earn them, you know. By winning  many games against other really strong players.

CP6033

how does he have a winning record against Kramnik?! Yes but Polgars top Rating was 2730, which about 40 players have topped at least.

i'm not talking about him being a 2700 GM i am talking about him being talked about as if he is Carlsen Equel.

He's beaten Kramnik more times than vice versa.

duh i knew that and don't call me strawman. i am saying i don't understand how he has a winning record against Kramnik.

Scottrf

I didn't call you a strawman, I was saying that you're creating a strawman. Nobody serious says that Nakamura is better than Carlsen. Hikaru himself wouldn't say that.

Hikaru isn't that bad, it is all his crazy 1000 fans that bug me.

CP6033

not all his fans of course, but some of them drive me crazy

CP6033

TomHaegin by the way i never did thank you for calling me a clown man did I?

As of today, Nakamura is ranked number #3 in the world with a rating of 2790. He is the highest rated blitz player IN THE WORLD. He has 3 career wins over Anand, with NO losses, and a plus score against Kramnik. He won the 2012 US Championships.

That is a pretty good resume.

JoshG354

Do your own research if you want to argue.
