im not sure about the GM title, but englands jeff horner gained his IM title last year aged 59! http://ratings.fide.com/card.phtml?event=400572
Dutch GM Yge Visser got the GM title in 2006 at age 42.
Who can go even higher? :)
Jaanis Klovans from Latvia obtained his GM title when over 60!!!!

George Koltanowski was given an honorary GM title at age 85. Arnold Denker was 63. Igor Ivanov was 58.
Congratulations to Larry Kaufman. I hadn't heard that.
He's a GM already, but I think Victor Korchnoi has still yet to peak.

Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant became a GM at 40.
