Has nothing to do with chess 960.

bugoobiga

Fischer was born 994 years to the day after modern chess rules became standard.

Nytik

Is 994 the number of posts you're going to make us suffer through before you reveal the entire thread is a hoax?

 I doubt it

theoreticalboy

Is it the number of times he's come back from the dead just to point out that even he thinks you're a self-regarding jackass with no sense of humour?

Conflagration_Planet

Clever, but no. I'll let everybody know in one half hour.

Nytik

Well? What's the answer?

Come on, you're killing me here! Frown

(I feel I shall be distinctly unimpressed, but please tell us anyway!!)

MyCowsCanFly

"994" was the name of Fischer's imaginary friend.

Beester

Fischer's 994th game, against Spassky using C95, Ruy Lopez Breyer Closed...

Almost time for you to tell. c:

I didn't think anybody cared, so I went off, and  worked Tactic STRAINER, and forgot about it. Anyway, there are 994 Robert Fischers living in the US at this time.

Nytik

Aha! I am actually satisfied with that. Thanks very much, Woodshover!

Conflagration_Planet

I didn't think ANYBODY would like it!

electricpawn

I actually a little disappointed but strangely curious how it is you know that.

Click onto dumb.com, and there's a place where you can put your name in, or anybody's of course, and it will tell you how many other people with that same name there are in the US. There's only one with my name, believe it or not.

I think you mean <SHIFT>.  Caps lock doesn't modify the numeric keys, nor does it need to be held down (hence the "lock").

(($ is what happens when I type 994 with the shift key down.

Did you know that there are 972 people in the US who actually have chess as a first name, and 3,060 people with chess for a last name!
