Topalov-Anand, Who do you think will win?

ericmittens

I think and hope Anand will win.

Smartattack

Hard to predict.Anand dominates all phases of the game and is more experienced than Topalov.Maybe Anand,but.....

My vote is Topalov to win by a margin of 1.

Anand

the both players are very strong, but i hope that Topalov will win

ramsam

Both are very strong in all tactics but I hope that Anand will surely win.

aansel

Topalov is a very tough match player who always puts his opponents nerves and defensive skills to test. While Anand is perhaps the better player, I think Topalov will win in a match

Regardless of who wins this match I think chess fans are in for a treat due to the styles of the two players ! I dont think we are going to see many lifeless draws, maybe none.

TheOldReb

Which player handles the clock better ?  I believe both are fast players and rarely in time trouble. Kamsky's play was ok in his match with Topalov but his clock handling doomed any chance he had.

TheWan23

I hope Anand win

I'm thinking that Anand will win. He has more dominance over positional play than Topalov does, and thus more closely resembles Kasparov or Alekhine than Mikhail Tal. Topalov is a great player, but he can sometimes be too wild.

One thing is for sure: this match will be awesome to watch! Two of the greatest modern attackers facing off for the Championship. No draws here!

If Anand can beat Kramnik, and Kramnik can beat Topalov, then...

But we should be in for some fun games. Tongue out

Well didn't we all think Anand vs. Kramnik would lead to some fireworks rather than a one-sided blowout?

TOPALOV!

exigentsky

I'm rooting for Anand but it will be a tough match. Based on Topalov's recent performance, it's hard not to see him as the favorite (even though he isn't WC).

Isn't Topalov the highest ranked player?

In January Topalov was 5 rankings points higher.

I read some Gm commentary on the Topalov - Kamsky match. It seemed (his opinion) that Topalov tried to force the win in a few of the games, maybe to the point of  giving away the advantage.

Personally, I thought that Anand won his match against Krammik with more ease, than Topalov won his against Kamsky - also, Anand had the stronger opponent to dispatch.

I can see Anand winning this one.

Does anyone know anything regarding the history of these two players when they have met over the board?
