Was Bobby Fischer the Michael Jordan of Chess?

I am only 7 years old but I know Bobby - I have studied all his games and openings especially. Michael Jordan is a great basketball player but he would learn alot from Bobby - about chess!
Jordan was the best basketball player for years,
Fischer was the best chess player in 1971-1972 only.

Nonsense. Fischer was obviously way above everyone for a long time... he simply stopped playing. No one reached that level for a long time.

Stop playing does not prove still being the best it might on the contrary be fear of losing...
Fischer beat Spassky by 12.5 - 8.5 in 1972.
Karpov beat Spassky by 7 - 4 in 1974.
Fischer quit, Karpov went on to play and win top tournaments and to successfully defend his title several times.

nope. he started to be at the top at around 1964, but he was never the actual best up until he beat spassky.

No, Bobby just had some really brilliant games
ok then morphy was the best pick one morphy or fischer

Well, i've never owned a pair of Air Fischers...
The movie, Like Mike, never actually used the name Michael Jordan.
But Searching for Bobby Fischer used Fischer's name, without consent, without compensation.
Now, imagine if a movie is titled "Searching for Michael Jordan" instead of "Hoop Dreams" (a documentary.)
Fischer is not treated with the same respect as Michael Jordan.
Dead people have a terrible time suing you. Also, Fischer was so paranoid, he'd probably try to avoid courtrooms. He certainly avoided the US after his rematch with Spassky.
