Carlsen has great patience coupled with great stamina.

he had some of the best coaches, some of the best resources, played in the best tournaments with the best players, worked very hard, played many types of positions, and enjoyed his chess. he also has an excellent memory.

He is a fascinating player, to be able be above so many great players.
He played exactly what the human brain dislike.
Some kind of anti-chess that has big psychological effect on his opponents.
