what's your favorite chess player and why?

I'm not a big fan of Levy as he tends to make claims that aren't true or grossly exaggerated, like "the King's Indian Defense is totally refuted by chess engines" (which is not true at all). And for a good few years kept talking up Alpha Zero when it had been discontinued long ago after just a couple of stunt matches with old versions of Stockfish (which is now much stronger than even AZ was back then).
Criticisms aside, Levy is good for instructional videos. My personal favorite to watch playing is Hikaru. But I've been following him since early 2000's.

Jose Raul Capablanca. Why? For two reasons. First, despite having what some consider a poor work ethic, he nonetheless became one of the greatest chess players of all-time. Which is almost incomprehensible considering how diffiult chess is. (It's also frustrating to some of his fans. If his work ethic was as great as his talent, he'd likely be consideried the greatest ever.) Second, from what I've read, J.R. Capablanca lived to the fullest!

gothemchess, tal, and Fabiano.
Gotham( levy Rosman ) teaches me a lot about chess and helped me get Elo.
tal is one of my favorites because vis playing style is very cool.
and Fabiano too, he is a great grandmaster.

I like Tal because his games were exciting and so wild it often took years before analysis came to a conclusion about the soundness of his play. I also like Capablanca because his play seems so effortless; simple, pretty obvious moves that eventually put his opponent in a difficult position, then the creation of an advantage that "inevitably" resulted in a winning endgame.
I like Levy from Gotham Chess, his videos also got me into chess.
