The problem isn't ability, he has the skills. The problem is that even as he progresses up the ranks toward GM status, so too do his opponents. If we all advance at the same rate, the distance between us remains the same. We have 12 year old GMs now. The game has changed and we old-timers are being crushed. I wish him luck but it will take more than that.

what? the world doesnt increase proportionally in chess strength lol. an IM in the 1980's was often a mere 200 points away from the world champion. now the difference is like 400 points. Although IM's today on average play stronger chess, everyone plays stronger chess because of the availability of resources. relatively speaking it was much harder to be an IM back in the day then now. If you look at older games, it wasnt rare for a good IM to have draws and wins vs top 10 players, ESP in the soviet union where their IM's where often GM level but lacked the ability to play abroad , now any win vs a top 100 GM by an IM is an outstanding result
This is without addressing the rampant title inflation we have now as a result of certain title granting tournaments.

I do think Levy can become GM, if he quit being a streamer. He has the talent and financial resources and possibly the partner to allow him to take the financial hit of not streaming.
Will he? doubt it. Being the most well known chess streamer ,with or without the IM title is worth far more than being a GM, heck its prob worth more than being top 100 in the world. How many players in the top 100, you never even heard of? heck go back to the 90's , some players in the top 10 i never even heard of or only vaguely seen their name . (Salov, tinman, Beliasky?)

Truth is, gotham, gains little from becoming GM, whatever service or invitation he gets, its ten times more likely to be due to being gothamchess than because he is another GM

Do you think GTA 6 will never come out? That's harsh.

This thread was opened almost 2 years ago. Today, Levy Rozman still has zero GM norms, and minus 19 rating points.

Which means that he has way more chances starring at a new sequel of the Mission: Impossible series, than getting the GM title.

I'd love to see Levy as an action hero. That would be hilarious!

I think he has a bigger passion for streaming tbh. And i dont think he can do it even then
