Boris Savchenko
Which GM's have you met in person?

I'll see him play this year, but I doubt he'll be socializing with the other players so I don't guess I'll get to meet him.
He is my favorite player of all time though!

I was lucky for Shak to teach me about a week ago... as well as Rauf, and Daniel Naroditsky!! It was all part of a camp for experts.

So I'm hoping that I'll get a chance to actually meet him this time.

Here's a link to a story I wrote about him years ago.
It won't link since I'm posting from my phone but you can copy and paste.

I played Gary Kasparov in a team of three in about 1999 at the Cobden Club in London. Afterwards he invited us to sit as his table, and I sat opposite him.

It was a charity thing, and he was playing a dozen other teams, I should say! But we took him further than anyone else.

Chris, yes. I sat almost directly opposite him for a three course dinner, with my two other team members. The only thing I can remember eating is 'wilted spinach'. I can't remember what we talked about though. My brother still has the move card, and I'd like to look at it. We actually gave him a tough time before he ended us!
I've never so much as been in the same room as Kramnik.
