Until recently I didn't know that Tang and So lived about six miles apart. The gopher state seems to attract the top players.

Where do the strongest active players in the United States congregate? Is there a particular state where there are more strong titled players than others? I am from Minnesota, home to Wesley So, Andrew Tang, and John Bartholomew. I am wondering if there are stronger states than mine such as Missouri where the St. Louis Chess Club is?
