Fischer or Capablanca maybe the most natural talented players, but modern players with all the prep tools / technology / access to game information are just better, so Magnus.
Emmanuel Lasker. He was never the best theoretician, but played the opponent rather than the board. He knew how to unsettle each different type of opponent and cause them to lose. Chess is a battle to outwit a human person, not an exercise in technical perfection.
