Who is the most sympathetic gm in your opinion?

Sort:
Gerberk8

My choice would be  Gary Kasparov...

Gerberk8

I know he has his faults but i still cant help liking him...

urk
He's very gregarious, which is unusual among the GMs, and very articulate.
Gerberk8

Yeah I agree there...had to look up gregarious though...

Yisk
Anand or Karpov
Gerberk8

I saw an interview with Karpov once and he seemed a very nice guy indeed..These gm ''s are mostly complicated people  I think...

Pieric22

Alejandro Ramirez and Yasser Seirawan seem very nice

What are you even talking about?? Are you actually from the USA? Hiding behind a different flag than where you are from?

Calling Garry Kasparov articulate just means that he is good at communicating his thoughts in a coherent manner. That has nothing to do with whether you consider chess an art or a sport (my opinion: it's both).

From personal acquaintance: Ronen Har Tzvi, Ilan Manor, Gadi Rechlis, Ram Soffer - are all extremely friendly people. GM Gofshtein was one too.

Spassky is reported to be quite the gentleman. I once got to spend several hours with Gligorich, and he was extraordinarily gracious and personable.

Anand gets snappy in press conferences occasionally, but he is very classy and well-respected by all the big names in the chess world. A few years ago he opened the doors of his home to flood victims in Chennai, India. Genuinely a nice person.

Yes I'm from Texas. I was joking.

Ah. Sorry for the overreaction happy.png

Svidler is great, but Eric Hansen, A.K.A. Chessbrah is my number 1 pick.

That one GM that started at 30 yrs and became GM by 42, he's pretty sympathetic, but I don't remember his name.

Karpark
Reportedly Gligoric was great company. Spassky and Tartakower of course as well. Not sure out of the current crop.
KholmovDM

Yasser Sierawan. Hands down.

TheAuthority

Fischer was sympathetic, but only selectively.
