The GREAT Pawn Collector.
He will CRUSH you like a melon!
Bobby fisher
He's your most favorite, and you spell his name both lowercase and wrong?
Alexander Alekhine, Jose Raul Capablanca and Paul Morphy. I don't like them all the same but truth to be told probably the all time best. Yeah, Robert Fischer was great also. Among players that never became world champions or are probably not to be considered the best among the best I fancy Akiba Rubinstein, Tigran Petrossian and Aron Nimzowitsch, but it's a matter of personal taste.
Fischer and Kasparov. Kasparov because he got involved with politics (i assume a rarity for a GM), had the guts to play that stupid computer (although he should've poured a pepsi down its core, poured another down his pants, sat down and kicked that silicon baboon's butt.........., and is articulate and seems personable. Fischer because he's the opposite..... lol.
jesus, bob fischer, tigran petrosian the first ,maia chiburdaidze, nicolai tesla,
and lets not forget sun tsu.
David Bronstein edges out several other greats as my favorite. His games combined artistry and sorcery. His game against Spassky in the 1960 USSR championship, even though he lost, is probably my favorite game ever. (The game even appeared in a James Bond movie.)
The other players who come close to being my favorite, in no particular order, are Tal, Gligorich, and Reshevsky.
Capablanca, the best.
