Why Do Players Decline Rematch on 3 Min Games, Even When They Win?

For me I turn down the rematch if I need a WC break or cup of tea.

Although I haven’t played a game in a while, I get annoyed by people who want a rematch. Is there an option for people to select “match” and then they can re-match all the way up to the number of games their match consists of. If I play, I want to play a variety of people and styles. If I or you win or lose it is either because one of us is better, worse, got lucky, or unlucky. Your rating pretty much says how good you are. What do you have to prove against someone you beat or lost to one time?

Most 3 minute blitz players are in it for the dopamine rush.

They LOVE the thrill of winning a game quickly even if they won due to a mouseslip or blunder or network error.

They don't want to risk losing the next game to an opponent who is going to double-down and be more focused in the rematch. Much better to run away with a gold sticker than to risk losing to them in a 14-game match and not taking home a trophy.

I usually decline most rematch requests I get even I think the person I'm facing would be free ELO simply because I don't enjoy facing the same person multiple times, doing the same openings over and over, having the same play style. Unless I really enjoyed the game we just played I'm happy with 1 game (this doesn't apply to people I know)

A 3 or 5 minute game takes intense concentration. I am often just simply too tired and can not immediately take on such a challenge.
