Age of Bughouse players

As one who's been playing Bughouse since before there was a chess.com (before there was such a thing as a dotcom!), I'm wondering about the age of the "typical" Bughouse player.

I figure it's a young person's game, since it's heavy on tactics, calculation, speed...and light on patience and reflection.

What do y'all think? Is the average Bughouse player even old enough to drink? (And is Bughouse even fun if there's no beer involved?)

I've played 2 blitz tournaments with added 'beer control' but never tried it with bughouse. Sounds like fun as long as there are enough sober people to drive everyone home after.

I started playing bughouse in the late 1960s so that puts me in my mid 60s.  Maybe that's why I'm not so great at it at this point.  It's an interesting question.

started playing bug late in life, on ICC in the mid-late 1990s .. do the math.
