Hi kulesh! Yes, it seems like this is the case and for other variants as well. I think the logic behind this is that the purpose of checkmate is to take the king the very next move (as it has no escape), so because black captures your king "first", they win.

Can someone confirm me that mate through blast has an andvantage in atomic chess?
Here is an example:
1. Nf3 f6
2. e3 Nc6
3. Bb5 e5
4. e4 a6
5. b3 axb5
6. a4 b5
7. a5 Ba3
8. Bxa3 g5
9. a6 f5
10. g3 fxe4
11. Qf3 Nf6
12. h4 Ne4
13. Qf7+ Nxf2#
In last move Qf+ (white= it is actually mate, but it was not enough for the win.
