In this variation, the board is hidden from the titles player until the patzer opponent makes their move. The patzer gets 1 move per day and the titles player gets 5 minutes for the entire game. The clock for the titled player begins when they open the board. The clock stops after their move is made and the board is hidden from them once again. The board is never hidden from the patzer opponent. Otherwise the rules for this time control variant are the same as in Hoyles rules of chess.
