Bulldog Chess with Witch and Guard (PerpetuallyPinned vs Marks1420)

I need to stop posting the boards from my perspective. In a rated game I'd probably be forced to play Re8

Rf8

I wouldn't force it, but others might, so yeah that is something you need to avoid doing.

Well, it depends on the situation, if I threatened a mate in one in a losing position and the written move unintentionally allows it while the move he meant to play would have won easily, then I would force it in any situations because, who can resist free rating?

I would also force it in any tournament game.

Typically in a rated but non-tournament game I would not force it because a game is a game.

I would never force in an unrated game.

What program?

Rae1

I don't know what program that is wink.png

The program Mark is using to create boards? It's Martin's board editor, you can find a link to download it from @Martin0 profile.

@captaintugwash is the program safe?

captaintugwash

Well I'm no authority, but Martin is highly respected, and the program has been used by many without any complaints. I can't get it to run on my computer, but I ran it on my previous one and had no problems.

If you prefer to use a web based editor, there's musketeer... https://musketeerchess.net/tools/boardpainter/

Martin's editor is superior though.

Can you draw pieces with his?

I just don't like downloading things, this isn't my computer.

No, you can't draw things, as far as I know. If you have questions, you should ask Martin himself.

captaintugwash

You can't draw pieces with either. Martin's editor has all the pieces we normally use, while musketeer has a very large list of fairy pieces, along with most of the ones we use.

Ah

Sorry for highjacking the thread

captaintugwash

It's not a problem, this is a casual game anyway.
