I know it sounds weird, but let me cook. Essentially, two people play for each side; with limited time, they can't spend forever studying the board and generating ideas. The teammates need to be at least 100 elo apart; the max is 150-this applies for both sides. I think this could be a cool variant and a unique way for lower-elo players to learn during the game. Also, because it's a variant, the elo lost doesnt matter as much as it would in a normal game. If anybody disagrees, feel free to explain why. The only major downside I see is what if a 2000 and a 1850 get put against an 800 and a 950; but even then, your lost elo doesnt matter that much because it's a variant, and there is always the option to limit the elo of those you can play against.
