What if chess was an action game?
That's the question me and a group of friends asked ourselves one day and since then we've been working on it. We're trying to see if there's any interest in the concept outside of the gaming community, you can see an example of the gameplay in the GIF below.

The game is called Kings Gauntlet: Chess Revoultion and we just published our Steam page, but release is still a few months away.
Basically you have full control on your king's movement and you can hit the enemy king while you move around. As you hit the enemy king you charge a gauge which you can then use to summon chess pieces around the board. The pieces take about a second to activate and they move automatically when they see an enemy piece or king in their trajectory and you win when one of your pieces eats the enemy king.
That's it! Instead of moving your own pieces you can manipulate the board state by placing your pieces strategically and moving the enemy pieces wherever it's better for your plan.
What do you guys think? Do you think the chess community could be interested in the game or should we focus our efforts on the gaming community? Does it peak your interest? Do you have any questions?
Let me know here!
