Does Chess Variant Rating Affect Conventional Rating?

I queued 960, and my 960 blitz rating was the same as my 3|2 blitz rating. If I lose in 960 blitz, does this affect my blitz rating? Or is there a separate rating for chess variants that is separate from standard game modes?

And the opposite is also true: your normal blitz rating won't affect your 960 blitz rating either.
