Duck Chess Balancing

As we know, white generally has a small advantage due to moving first, and this advantage would be theoretically exacerbated in Duck Chess as not only does white move first but can also limit certain responses by Black.

So just now, I had a thought that would make Duck Chess more balanced. To do this, before white plays the first move, Black is able to place the duck on the board although Black is not permitted to move a piece (sort of like a move 0). The game then continues as normal. This effectively gives Black the ability to limit certain openings from being played while still giving White the final say in terms of what opening will eventually be played (sort of like banning stages in tournament Smash).

I was thinking White can't move the duck on the first turn.
