Event #83 Smaller Board

Pieces on the a-file move one step towards the h-file. If any pieces stand in the way that piece will also move one step towards the h-file. Pieces on the h-file will move towards the a-file in the same way. For the rest of the game the a- and h-file are treated as if they do not exist. No pieces can move to the a- or h-file; b- and g-file are treated as edges of the board.

LOL

what would you do if the back rank would be filled?

Martin0

It is a requirement that there are at least 2 empty squares on each rank for this event to start. So if the back rank is full, then I would start a different event instead.

Event #88 Treasure Hunt

Both players choose a square and keep it hidden to his opponent. The chosen square may not be occupied by an enemy piece. On that square there is a treasure.

Whenever a piece is moved to an enemy treasure, then the owner of that treasure must reveal that his treasure was there. The owner of the piece that moved there wins the game.

A player can not leave their king in check to win this way.

Example 1:

If the event started here white can choose any square not occupied by a black piece. White choose h1. Black can choose any square not occupied by a white piece. Black choose a6.

Example 2:

Blacks treasure is on a6. Black plays a6. Putting a piece on your own treasure does nothing (must be opponents), so nothing special happens.

Example 3:

Whites treasure is on h1. Black plays Kh1. White reveals that his treasure was on h1. Black wins the game.

Example 4:

Whites treasure is on h1. Black is not allowed to play Kh1 since he is not allowed to leave himself in check.

Example 5:

Blacks treasure is on a6. White plays Qa6. Black reveals that his treasure was on a6. White wins the game.

Me and Dobby has previously had an event chess game with the treasure hunt event, but the rules has been changed since after that game. Both players should send me a message with their chosen square and then the game continues. Squares on the a- and h-files can not be chosen.

What changed? Also this is the first time I've played with the same event twice!

The reward for getting a piece on the opponents treasure used to be that the piece that got the treasure received an armor. Now the reward is just winning the game directly. It turns out finding a treasure is really hard, so the reward is increased in an attempt to make the event more relevant. New version is also simpler, which is a plus.

When do I move?

Martin0

I have received the squares from both players, so you can move now.
