As long as it is clear which move is made, I will not be picky with notation. It was clear ry wanted to pick up the h7 pawn, so that move was made.

But, this is just an unrated game. Loosing the rook this way is basically game over, so if I were Dobby I would consider the game a win, but let ry take back his move and continue.

You can't fire at f8. The only squares you can fire at are d7, f5 and h7. If the board was bigger, then f9 would also be possible, but the board is not that big, so you can't fire in that direction.
