Fairy Fischer Non-Random Chess (tschess)

The idea of Fischer random chess is cool insofar as it's a bust to the King's Gambit, and every other opening ~ but it removes the player's sense of agency and that's a problem.

I've created an app where we apply the heuristic of point/piece value assignment and - with the standard board as an upper bound - give the player the freedom to orchestrate their configuration however they see fit.

We've also got some fairy pieces in there to keep things interesting.

It's called tschess (The End of Chess), you can find the download links on the homepage ~ as a new user I can't post links but you can easily find it by Google search or in the App Store/Play Store.

If you've got any comments, questions, feedback ~ I'd be very happy to hear from you!

Why ts? What does that stand for?

GambitShift

I am not ts by the way, I am just asking.

for some years I lived in Germany and the word "tschüss" always sounded to me like "chess", so it's born from that idea :-)

Well, I will always say this. Random chess is not shuffling the back rank pieces. That is back rank random. Call a spade a spade.

Throw a little I-Ching into the mix guys. Then you will have random.

How is it illegal?

I already have the game. It was played 20 years ago.

Before Carlsen became champion.

But I am showing that random chess doesn't have to be shuffling the back rank pieces.

My apologies, I didn't see the OP

It's ok. Sometimes, the title is misleading.
