Family Chess!

White and Green are allied, & so is Black with Brown. White goes first, then Green, then Black, then Brown. It's a 4-player game. For all the rules of this most amazing variant, I created a thread under 'Chess News' named: 'The greatest thing since Bobby Fischer.'

Greatest thing since Bobby Fischer? 😂 I'll take your word for it. Looks fun, I'll have to try it OTB with friends sometime.

Nope. Far as I know it can only be played OTB. Hope that changes soon.

Looks like a lot of fun! Although, there might be an issue with the rooks being next to each other, if white and black go first it seems like they have an advantage. Maybe there should be a “family friendly” no-capture rule for, say, 5-6 turns?

White is allied with green, and black is allied with brown. They cannot take each others pieces. It's a team game and the objective is to capture the opposing team's 2 kings. If your teammate's king is still alive, you still play on even if you've lost yours.

You can check all the rules on the other thread I mentioned, in 'Chess News'
