Hey All, working on a chest variant, Which I call GuessChess. what do you think?
The rules are pretty simple but think it could be a fun way to play incorporating some probabilistic aspects of Cards / Battleship / Bughouse into a normal game etc.
Here are the current rules of Guess Chess:
White pieces makes one normal 'transparent' move on the board.
The last opponent move on the board is then hidden for each player. ie players must commit their next move before seeing their opponents last move.
Black / white, black white etc for all subsequent rounds. having the pre-move stage start with Black reduces some of the advantage that white has in choosing the first move
Illegal pre-moves are rejected by the system. This is a possible state in guess chess. To avoid spoofing, if you make 3 illegal attempts on a single turn, you lose your turn.
if a pre-move is to capture piece, and the responding pre-move is to move that piece away. the piece is allowed to move away, this promotes whack-a-mole (Which is fun)
Game is played until checkmate/draw/resignation per normal rules.
Looking for feedback to refine the game mechanics.
Would GuessChess work in your opinion?
Over the board version of Guess Chess, involves writing the pre-moves on pieces of paper.
