I can't play chess960, I just can't

WHY AM I SO BAD AT CHESS960?! I lost so many games in this format, WHY!? it's not because of no openings cuz I'm not an opening nerd anyways, but the layout of every position is so confusing, also I keep moving so slow, I'm burning so much time cuz I just freeze in certain positions, what cna I do about this? also I keep either losing on time in winning positions or I throw games away cuz the positions are so complicated or I'm in time trouble

anyways, imma take a break of 960 for at least a couple of days, but can someone plz help me?

also, it's so annoying that I'm only getting paired against higher rated opponents in 960 cuz nobody plays 960 on this site, so that's not helping either

I don't know, I rarely ever play 960 and I'm just not a fan of the no openings and I just kinda have to play random moves in the opening. But I'm pretty sure there sort of is openings in 960 cuz in like that one freestyle tournament with magnus and hikaru and gukesh they all played like the same first moves. It might just be your not used to it that's my guess

Also you might just be tilted or tired from playing so much. And you said ur getting paired with people with much higher ratings, so that is definitely another reason for the losses

chess960 is good for Magnus and other top players, but I don't think it's for me

Good Morning! that's why it's called chess960, there's 960 possible starting positions, they can be in any order as long as the king is between both rooks and bishop are opposite color squares
