I am sorry some people have absolute no care for their teammate when they lose and I apologize to everyone (if I ever did this to you I am sorry, I generally don't and try not to but in rare cases I have been a little rude (I always try to apologize when I realize what I accidentally said; and generally
On a second note though, I have great news for you! When variants 2.0 goes live there will be two different types of modes (the first being the original teams (YAY), and the second being self partner (you play both sides of the board)). With this new edit, the teams mode should become much more friendly, and fun going. Whereas the extremely competitive or uptight type can play self partner, where they can compete at "their fullest" and have a good game. Nobody is going to be insulting their opponent, thus both sides benefit from this change and make the environment much more friendly. Personally I have found the 4pc environment quite friendly, (people always talk trash about other people, but its just best to ignore it).
On a final note, when playing 4pc teams, it is important to know that it doesn't matter if you or your teammate get checkmated (its the same thing you both lose, thus you both got checkmated). The same for kings, it isn't your king and their king. It's our kings, both share the same responsibility for both kings. Again even for regular pieces, it isn't your pieces and my pieces, its this side, and that sides pieces (the reason it isn't our pieces in this case is because material balance does play a key role, so it is better to use the term this side that side).
