Infinite Chess: Official release!

This is totally on a limb. It's related to Infinite Chess, yet, not related; to this specific topic, at least.
Does anyone know where @Vickalan is now-a-days and how to get a hold of him/her?
I've contacted him over email. Last time I corresponded from him was June 2023. He's pretty much dropped out of games, spending time outdoors and other things, I don't know too much more.
He and I were particularly a pair of online "peas in a pod". We really enjoyed eachother's company; and excellently bonded over variants and other such stuff.
Despite talking very closely about people who flake on their games, it seems that he was waiting a long time for my response to our game. I wonder if I was the final straw. If so, I'm taking responsibility.

I have a question:If you edit the rules of a piece (make a custom one), then what will the limit be? How would you define jumping over pieces? How hard would it be to make a piece that could move anywhere? Would it be limited to normal chess moves so the best piece you could make is a form of calvary queen (A queen and knight)I feel that in the game with infinite space there should also be infinite possibilities in the piece editor.

Depends. What kind of pieces would you like? When I first finish the editor it will probably not contain additional pieces than the base game. But depending on how complex/simple the moveset is I may be adding several more shortly after." You should add an Xiangqi Horse it moves in small boxes

it cant move in diagnols when surrounded it is useless but infinite chess so it is never getting trapped

From me speaking with him it didn't sound like he had any grudges towards anyone. It think it was other reasons that led him to leave.

To push the limit to Omega_1 and beyond, you'd need to create a piece with infinitely complex moves, that being, you need a piece that can make an infinite number of captures in a single turn, anything short of that and you'd be able to describe the move with finite information.
Infinite Checkers has this property, if the position allows it, you can make an infinite number of captures at once, hopping off into infinity, leaving the board, capturing yourself in the process so to speak, it's quite interesting, and uncountable ordinal game values may be possible there!
speaking of checkers make a checkers peace
The checkers piece moves like a forward ferz, and when it reaches the pawn promotion rank it promotes to ferz. So basically it useless

This should be a battle Royale, so you start across from somebody, but you can interrupt other people

So the possibilities *will* be endless. That sounds infinitely cool, though I just wanted to know if I could make a piece that could move anywhere. The moment that releases I will spend an hour seeing what I could do. One thing I want to know: How will the texturing work? Will it be a little drawing area, an image selector, or an image inserter?

I will also note that I wasn't talking about infinite capture, I was talking about infinite freedom of movement.
nah bro i got a cheater
I'll have to patch this soon.
thanks
