I believe KOTH is the best chess variant for multiple reasons, if you disagree, try to prove me wrong!

That's not how it works.

You just gave your opinion.  Your opinion is your opinion. It is not a disputable statement.

You haven't given any reasons at all for your opinion.

Those reasons may be statements subject to verification.

Oh, I'll give reasons wink.png

1. King Of The Hill includes actual normal chess strategies, such as King Safety. In King Of The Hill, you will not be able to try to run your king to the middle in KOTH, unless you want to get checkmated, just like in normal chess. However, in the endgame, just like KOTH, King Activity is essential. Also, it can teach you not to sacrifice for an open king most of the time, such as bishop sacrifices, in normal chess, most of the time, a bishop sac on a kingside castled king on a6, as the queens checks can be blocked most of the time, or in case of King of the Hill, more pieces traded benefits an open king.

2. It is much easier to learn, unlike Crazyhouse or Bughouse, and it is very easy to adapt to, unlike Live960.

Of course king of the hill is a good variant ! but i doesn`t think so it is a reason to neglect other variants. especially the 960 Fisher witch is to my point of view very technical but also very interesting to play ! Crazyhouse ; Bughouse ; Canada dry ; sound perhaps more Fairy chess .          depending on what you like to play . but it is just a personnel opinion .                                          see you later. bye .                                                                                                                              Aqua.

I did not neglect any variant at any time.

I do not think that Live 960 easily compares to other variants. It is basically normal chess. In most games, by the time of move 20, it is a normal chess game.

Even 3-Check has a equal competition.  There’s nothing more satisfying than sacrificing a piece or two to checkmate your opponent. Here safe guarding is more vital. Anyways I like both KITH and 3 Check

In three check, you rarely deliver checkmate. Most of the time, you just give 3 checks.

I also forgot to add that in King Of The Hill, controlling the centre is important, so is in normal chess.

hello

DuskPikachu

... I do not think that is an official variant bruh

DuskPikachu

... Well, even if it as an official variant, it isn't on chess.com.

Pan_troglodites

I am not qualified to refute it, nor to agree.

This question deserve the opinion of a Grand Master.

I will stay tunned to  this thread looking for a GM answer.

DuskPikachu

A grand master would not be suited for this problem, as they never play variants, and would rather learn playing in Standard chess. It is very rare to see a grand master playing King Of The Hill. So no, I do not think you will staying tuned anytime soon.

AquaJewel

the real problem with 3-check is : in a matter to win you have to check your opponent not just one time , not twice but three time !!! happy.png
