haoming09

I guess we will move g3.

haoming09

Really?

I suppose we experts will agree to continue in like fashion?

Vote: Bg2

Ry, you're a regular d4 player, so you've probably seen this exact position come up reflexively (or should I say reflectively?) many times before.

Don't these symmetrical openings get incredibly bogged down, extremely positional, and where some minute pawn move, seemingly inconsequential at the time, changes the outcome of everything, dramatically?

e4 please

haoming09

can someone post what Martin moved?

USAuPzlBxBob

haoming09, I tried to copy the current board, and I cannot do it.

You can always go to Connect > Forums > Chess Variants > Martin0 vs the world - Event Chess Game #2

… and study the current Board Martin so generously provides.

There may be some other way, but I don't know how to do it.

Tja_05

He played Bg7. Let's just continue with 4. Bg2

haoming09

Ry hasn't replied yet, his vote will probably clinch it, and then the move will be back on Martin… then castling — both sides — and then we'll see a new dawn for Variant Chess games… secure Kings and…

Go For It!

landontu

current position i believe

Thanks, landontu.

When should we start an event?Wait for Martin to start one?

USAuPzlBxBob

From what I've learned, you start an Event when it is the only "arrow left in your quiver."

haoming09

Oh ok.

Tja_05

It seems to me that events are double-edged swords. If you start one too late, it can mess up your entire position. However, starting one early hardly provides an advantage at all.
