So we all know that you move a piece in order to capture your opponents units. However, I want to mix things up a bit. I present to you... cannoneer chess! All pieces have the 'option' to capture a piece but not move to the square of said piece. The captured piece is isn't fully gone though; it will transform into a dead unit. To give pawns a unique advantage, you can not "cannon" down a pawn with any piece, and must be taken physically. Pawns can not 'cannon' down an en passant. I believe this variant highly shakes up chess strategy and puts a new perspective on chess. What do you guys think? (god, I sound like a youtuber...)
