New Variant?

I just envision a new variant and was wondering if its been invented already. Basic rules are each player starts with 15 points of material, their choice. pieces are placed on players respective side but not necessarily on their originalstarting color. Bishops have to be on opposite colors if using 2. the material points have to equal 15 but do not have to be symmetrical. pieces are selected in secret and placed on the board one at a time until all are placed. kings are placed last and cannot be placed where they are in check. white moves first and normal play commences.

This sounds really similar to "setup chess" except that has 39 points of material (same as regular chess) which you can place: https://www.chess.com/variants/setup-chess
