If a King can also move like a Knight as well as like it original does, than that would give him 16 squares to possibly move to. This will make games extremely difficult to deliver checkmate. It's especially so, considering that half its squares are accessible through leaping.

It's a cool idea for a piece; but perhaps too powerful as a King piece.
hmm I suppose that could be true. Let me try.
I will try to checkmate white from this position. (the bottom is the 1st rank)

I don't think it's too hard.
Maybe it would be too hard in a completely standard game except the centaurs replacing kings.

Hmmm. Looking at the diagram, I realized that one thing I didn't consider is, when both Centaur Kings can move like the Knight, both are even more restricted as far as how close enemy Kings can come towards each other. That would render the extra power of the King being able more easily to escape checkmate useless; in other words, because both Kings are given more power, both are still just as equally susceptible to each other.
Maybe it's not so much harder to checkmate after all. We new observers simply haven't yet learned positionality to deliver checkmate with these new pieces is all.

Not exactly a variant ; seems more of a setup with fairly pieces form 4pc
What do you mean?
Yes, I used the 4PC Piece designs, but there is a piece that has never been made before
Please read the thing that actually explains how all the pieces move.
Thank you

I'm not too sure I understand how this defiles the qualifications of what a chess variant is; considering that there is a pleasant series of variants which are exactly this: a series of faeries assembled into a setup on a checkerboard.
Please elaborate.

Huh. I just checked the moves again. 3.Ce7 is illegal: it moves the Centaur into check by Black's Amazonka.
edit - Well that's not a stalemate, as White's Centaur King can still move onto e8. But, moving Black's Centaur to d7 afterwards would be illegal, as enemy Centaur Kings may not "see eachother" by squares related to Knight maneuver. Such would put each other in check.
So, Black needs to make an alternative move.
well, I am just going to pretend that that was intended, and I always meant Calvary.
